Welcome Message

Dear Colleagues:

On behalf of the Organizing and Program Committees, I am pleased to inform you of the 113th Scientific Meeting of the Japan Society of Medical Physics (JSMP). This meeting will be held from April 13 to 16, 2017 at the Pacifico Yokohama Convention Center in Yokohama City, Japan, in conjunction with the 76th Annual Meeting of the Japan Radiological Society (JRS), the 73rd Scientific Congress of the Japanese Society of Radiological Technology (JSRT), and the International Technical Exhibition of Medical Imaging (ITEM) 2017.

The main theme of the joint congress (JRC2017) is “To the Summit of Radiology, To the Horizon of Radiology.” For the further development of radiation medicine, it is crucial to aim higher by promoting research and development and focusing on technical innovation that widely contributes to patient-friendly medicine.

The meeting will feature plenary and educational lectures by distinguished medical physicists, and scientific sessions for leading researchers on medical physics. The scientific program will cover all areas of medical physics, which are related to the prevention, diagnosis and therapy of disease. In addition, the international symposium related to international standards will focus on the global expansion of techniques.

There will be approximately 200 presentations, including the joint symposia and plenary lectures and talks, and approximately thirty percent of the presentations will be given in English. We would also like to announce that members of the Asia-Oceania Federation of Organizations for Medical Physics (AFOMP), whose abstracts are accepted, will be treated as invited speakers and receive support regarding the registration fee.

We hope this meeting serves as a platform for the continuous evolution of all participants, increases cooperation across countries, and boosts the mutual development of medical physics and cultural exchange around the world.

With regard to ITEM 2016, exhibits by at least 140 companies will display the latest radiology equipment and devices. In addition, a banquet is arranged as a social program on the second day of the meeting.

We sincerely hope that you can join us in making the 113th JSMP meeting a complete success.

Yours faithfully,

Koji Noda, Ph.D.
Congress Chair of the 113th JSMP Meeting
